Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie (released in Japan on August 6, 1994) is an adult anime film directed by Gisaburō Sugii, adapting the iconic 1991 video game Street Fighter II. The plot follows martial artist Ryu as he travels the world seeking worthy opponents, while the criminal syndicate Shadowlaw, led by M. Bison, launches a global manhunt to capture him and his rival Ken Masters for their evil purposes. Interpol agent Chun-Li and Captain Guile, both seeking revenge against Bison, join forces to stop the syndicate, leading to a brutal fight where Chun-Li defeats Vega but falls into a coma. After Bison captures and hypnotizes Ken, Guile tracks down Ryu in Thailand, leading to a climactic battle where Ryu breaks Ken free from mind control and faces Bison's devastating Psycho Power. The film was a critical and commercial success, and its popularity led to the production of the related anime series Street Fighter II V.
