Leonardo Campana Romero is an Ecuadorian forward currently playing for the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer, and he comes from a prominent footballing family—his grandfather was president of Barcelona SC, and he is a relative of Ecuador's president, Daniel Noboa. After starting his career at Barcelona SC in 2016, he moved to English club Wolverhampton in 2020, but found his footing through loans in Portugal and Switzerland before joining Inter Miami in 2022. At Inter Miami, he made a major impact, scoring a hat trick that earned him MLS Player of the Week, winning the 2023 Leagues Cup, and scoring twice with assists from Lionel Messi in the U.S. Open Cup semifinal. In December 2024, he was traded to the Revolution in a record-breaking MLS domestic deal worth up to $3.25 million, and he scored his first goal for the club in April 2025. Internationally, he was a key player in Ecuador's 2019 South American U-20 Championship victory, scoring six goals, and he also holds U.S. citizenship.
