Sophie Cunningham (born August 16, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Indiana Fever of the WNBA, known for her sharp three-point shooting and physical style of play. A standout at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri, she led her team to four straight state titles and even served as the football team's kicker, making two of four field goal attempts. At the University of Missouri, she became the program's all-time leading scorer, earned three first-team All-SEC selections, and was named a third-team All-American in her senior season. Drafted 13th overall by the Phoenix Mercury in 2019, she spent six seasons there, developing into one of the league's most accurate three-point specialists and helping the team reach the 2021 WNBA Finals. In 2025, she was traded to the Indiana Fever, where she serves as a key reserve and has drawn national attention as an enforcer for star teammate Caitlin Clark. Over her college career, she averaged 17.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game across 129 starts.
