Stella Parton (born May 4, 1949) is an American country singer and songwriter, best known as the younger sister of Dolly Parton, though she carved out her own successful career. Her biggest hit, "I Want to Hold You in My Dreams Tonight", reached the country top ten in 1975, leading to a major-label deal with Elektra and several more top 20 hits in the late 1970s. Over her career, she has released 22 albums and 28 charting singles, including her 2019 album Survivor, which features covers of Avicii and Bob Seger. Beyond music, she appeared as Mary Beth Malone in a 1979 episode of The Dukes of Hazzard, starred in Broadway touring musicals like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and acted in the 2000 TV movie The Color of Love: Jacey's Story.
