Bloober Team is a Polish video game developer founded in Kraków in November 2008 by Piotr Babieno and Piotr Bielatowicz, best known for crafting psychological horror titles. The studio gained acclaim for games like Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch, and The Medium, earning the prestigious Paszport Polityki award in 2018. After a rocky start with Basement Crawl, the company pivoted successfully, and by 2021 it secured major investments from Tencent and a strategic partnership with Konami. This partnership led to the highly anticipated remake of Silent Hill 2 (released in 2024), built with Unreal Engine 5, alongside a new Layers of Fear title. The company has also expanded its business footprint, owning publisher Feardemic, signing a distribution deal with Sony, and listing on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in January 2024. Continuing its horror legacy, Bloober Team released Cronos: The New Dawn in 2025, solidifying its status as a major player in the genre.
