Persona 6 is an upcoming role-playing game developed by Atlus's P-Studio and published by Sega for PlayStation 5, Windows, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S, marking the seventh main installment in the beloved Persona series. Notably, it is the first mainline entry since Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (2000) not directed by Katsura Hashino, who departed the team in 2016 to establish Studio Zero and work on Metaphor: ReFantazio. Development began in earnest before Persona 5's 2017 worldwide release, with full production underway by 2021, leading to an official teaser announcement in June 2026 after a series of leaks—including a green-themed logo in 2023 and concept art in 2026. While composer Shoji Meguro left Atlus's sound team in 2021, he remains committed to the franchise, and character designer Shigenori Soejima is also available to reprise his role. As part of Sega's strategy, the game will prioritize a simultaneous worldwide launch across multiple platforms, aiming to sell at least 5 million units in its first year.
