Jason W. Brown (born May 5, 1983) is a former NFL center who played for the Baltimore Ravens and St. Louis Rams, but he is now best known for his remarkable second act as a farmer. After a standout college career at North Carolina, where he earned First-team All-ACC honors in 2004, he was drafted by the Ravens in 2005 and later became the NFL's highest-paid center when he signed a five-year, $37.5 million deal with the Rams in 2009. Released in 2012, Brown pivoted to agriculture, teaching himself farming through YouTube videos and establishing the 1,000-acre First Fruits Farm in North Carolina, where he has donated over 500,000 pounds of sweet potatoes to local food pantries. Beyond farming, he manages the Amazing Graze Barn event venue on his property. A practicing Christian and father of eight, Brown's life is deeply rooted in family and community, though it carries a poignant history—his brother was killed in the Iraq War in 2003, and his grandfather was civil rights activist Jasper Brown.
