Rosanne Cash (born May 24, 1955) is an acclaimed American singer-songwriter and author, best known as the eldest daughter of country legend Johnny Cash. She rose to fame in the 1980s with genre-crossing hits like the 1981 chart-topper "Seven Year Ache", which dominated the country charts while also cracking the pop Top 30. In 1990, she boldly broke from her pop-country past with the introspective album Interiors, shortly after divorcing songwriter Rodney Crowell and relocating to New York City, where she also built a respected career as a writer. Her impressive accolades include a 1985 Grammy for "I Don't Know Why You Don't Want Me" and a remarkable triple Grammy win in 2015 for The River & the Thread and its related songs.
