Melissa Gonzalez (hurdler)

Melissa Blough (née Gonzalez), born June 24, 1994, in El Paso, Texas, is a Colombian American athlete who competes internationally for Colombia in the 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay. She has won multiple gold medals in South American competitions and set a personal best of 55.32 seconds at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In March 2019, she married David Blough, a former NFL quarterback and current coach, and she holds dual U.S.-Colombian citizenship as a Roman Catholic. Her athletic family includes her father Hector, who played college basketball at UTEP, and her sister Samantha, who also represents Colombia internationally. Her younger brother, Christian Gonzalez, was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft.
