Jacob Lopez (born March 11, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher currently playing for the Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). Originally drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 26th round of the 2018 MLB Draft, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2019. After recovering from Tommy John surgery that sidelined him for the entire 2022 season, Lopez made his MLB debut with the Rays on August 14, 2023, earning a save in relief against his former team, the Giants. He spent parts of the 2023 and 2024 seasons with Tampa Bay before being traded to the Athletics in December 2024 alongside Jeffrey Springs in exchange for Joe Boyle, Will Simpson, Jacob Watters, and a draft pick. After starting the 2025 season in Triple-A, he debuted for the Athletics on April 18, 2025.
