Snowfall is an American crime drama series created by John Singleton, Eric Amadio, and Dave Andron, which aired on FX from July 5, 2017, to April 19, 2023, spanning six seasons and 60 episodes. The show follows the rise of young drug dealer Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) as he navigates the crack cocaine epidemic in 1980s South Central Los Angeles. Its complex narrative also weaves in the stories of CIA operative Teddy McDonald, Mexican luchador Gustavo "El Oso" Zapata, and cartel heiress Lucia Villanueva, exploring the CIA's covert operations in Nicaragua and the drug trade's interconnectedness. After being developed at Showtime in 2014, FX picked it up in 2016, and it received multiple renewals, culminating in its final season premiering in February 2023. A spinoff series, The Drop: A Snowfall Saga, featuring Gail Bean and Isaiah John, is scheduled to premiere on September 8, 2026.
