Karen Khachanov (born 21 May 1996) is a Russian professional tennis player who reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 8 in July 2019. His most notable achievement is winning a silver medal in singles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, along with capturing seven ATP Tour titles, including the prestigious 2018 Paris Masters. He has also reached the semifinals of the 2022 US Open and the 2023 Australian Open, and won a doubles title at the 2023 Madrid Open with compatriot Andrey Rublev. Hailing from an Armenian-Russian family—with his father from Yerevan—he began playing at age three and was inspired by Marat Safin and Juan Martín del Potro. In his junior career, he won the U18 European Championship in 2013 and earned a silver medal at the 2014 Youth Olympics, while also setting a record as the youngest Russian player (at 17) to debut in the Davis Cup.
