Tyrone Taylor is an American professional baseball outfielder currently playing for the Chicago Cubs, having previously suited up for the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets after making his MLB debut in 2019. Drafted by Milwaukee in the second round of the 2012 draft out of Torrance High School, he showcased promise in the minors—hitting for the cycle in 2014 with the Brevard County Manatees—and later credited hitting consultant Craig Wallenbrock with revitalizing his plate approach. Taylor contributed steadily for the Brewers, including a 17-homer season in 2022, though a right elbow sprain delayed his start to 2023. On December 20, 2023, he was traded to the New York Mets (along with Adrian Houser for Coleman Crow), and he wasted no time making an impact by delivering his first career walk-off RBI on April 4, 2024 to secure New York's first win after an 0-5 start. That season, he played 130 games, batted .248 with 7 home runs, and won the starting center field job from Harrison Bader, earning praise from manager Carlos Mendoza as a player who makes winning plays.
