Kylo Ren

Kylo Ren, born Ben Solo, is the central antagonist of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, portrayed by Adam Driver in The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017), and The Rise of Skywalker (2019). The son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, he was trained as a Jedi by his uncle Luke Skywalker but was seduced to the dark side by Supreme Leader Snoke, taking the name Kylo Ren to emulate his grandfather, Darth Vader. Throughout the trilogy, he kills his father and Snoke, seizes the role of Supreme Leader, and ultimately discovers a powerful "Force dyad" connection with Rey. In a redemptive arc, he rejects the dark side to help defeat the resurrected Emperor Palpatine, sacrificing his life force to revive Rey. Driver's performance earned critical acclaim, including a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor for The Force Awakens, making him the first Star Wars actor to win that award since Alec Guinness. The character's iconic jagged crossguard lightsaber and mask design were specifically crafted to evoke Darth Vader, with his name and look first revealed to the public in December 2014.
