Jalin Turner (born May 18, 1995) is an American mixed martial artist competing in the UFC's lightweight division, who turned professional in 2016 after fighting for promotions like Bellator and the World Series of Fighting. Growing up in a rough San Bernardino neighborhood, he overcame both injuries and arachnophobia—collecting 200 tarantulas as pets, which earned him the nickname "The Tarantula" and even accompanied him during a weigh-in. After making his UFC debut with a loss to Vicente Luque at UFC 229 in 2018, Turner rebounded with a series of impressive victories, including knockouts and submissions over Callan Potter, Brok Weaver, Uroš Medić, and Jamie Mullarkey. His most notable win came at UFC 276 in July 2022, where he submitted Brad Riddell in under a minute, earning a Performance of the Night bonus. By January 2024, he had climbed to a career-high #9 ranking in the UFC lightweight division. Most recently, he was scheduled to face Dan Hooker at UFC 285, but after Hooker withdrew, he was matched against Mateusz Gamrot instead.
