Spider-Noir is an American superhero series developed by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, set in an alternate 1930s New York City within Sony's Spider-Man Universe. Nicolas Cage stars as Ben Reilly, an aging private investigator and the grizzled superhero "The Spider," who must return to crime-fighting when an exceptional case forces him out of retirement. The series, which also stars Lamorne Morris and Li Jun Li, was ordered in May 2024 and filmed in Los Angeles from August 2024 to March 2025. It premiered on MGM+ on May 25, 2026, and globally on Prime Video on May 27, 2026, offering both black-and-white and color versions across its eight episodes. Critics praised Cage's performance, earning the show 11 Primetime Emmy nominations, though it was cancelled after one season in September 2026. Cage's portrayal, inspired by Humphrey Bogart and Bugs Bunny, added a unique noir-comedy tone to the character.
