Saquon Barkley (born February 9, 1997) is a star running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, known for his explosive playmaking and versatility. He starred at Penn State, setting school records for all-purpose yards (5,538) and rushing touchdowns (43), and finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting in 2017. Drafted second overall by the New York Giants in 2018, he was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, though injuries hampered his 2020 season before he returned to Pro Bowl form in 2022. In 2023, he signed with the Eagles, where he rushed for over 2,000 yards in his first season, helped win Super Bowl LIX, and earned AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year—breaking Terrell Davis's single-season rushing record. Raised in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley, he was a standout at Whitehall High School, winning Mr. Pennsylvania Football and excelling in track and field, with his jersey number retired there in 2021.
