Sorana Cîrstea

Sorana Cîrstea is a Romanian professional tennis player who reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 17 in July 2026, making her the oldest player ever to debut in the WTA's top 20. Her best Grand Slam performances include reaching the quarterfinals at the 2009 and 2026 French Opens and the 2023 US Open. Over her career, she has won four WTA Tour singles titles and seven doubles titles, highlighted by reaching the 2013 Rogers Cup final and winning the 2025 Madrid Open doubles with Anna Kalinskaya. Known for her longevity, she has recorded 25 career wins over top-10 players and reached three additional WTA 1000 semifinals. Born in Bucharest and raised in Târgoviște, she was introduced to tennis at age four and cites Steffi Graf and Roger Federer as her idols.
