NASCAR on TNT Sports is the branding for NASCAR races broadcast on TNT and formerly TBS, with a history spanning over four decades. The coverage began on TBS in 1983, airing races like the Richmond spring race and the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, and even included exhibition races in Japan from 1996–1998. In 2001, the races moved to TNT as the cable partner for NBC Sports, sharing a broadcast team led by Allen Bestwick, Benny Parsons, and Wally Dallenbach Jr., though TNT was treated as the secondary broadcaster with less prestigious races. TNT notably took over the 2001 UAW-GM Quality 500 when NBC switched coverage to a major news story, and it pioneered side-by-side commercial coverage during the 2000 season. From 2007 to 2014, TNT became a primary NASCAR broadcaster in its own right, and it is set to return to the role in 2025.
