Daniil Medvedev

Daniil Medvedev (born 11 February 1996) is a Russian tennis player who achieved the world No. 1 ranking in 2022, becoming the first man outside the "Big Four" to do so in nearly 20 years. He has claimed 23 ATP titles, highlighted by his victory at the 2021 US Open, where he notably denied Novak Djokovic a calendar-year Grand Slam, alongside his win at the 2020 ATP Finals. After reaching a sixth major final at the 2024 Australian Open, his form waned, but he ended an 882-day title drought at the 2025 Almaty Open, aided by new coaches after splitting with longtime mentor Gilles Cervara. Off the court, the Moscow-born player, who moved to France as a teen, credits his 2018 marriage to Daria Chernyshkova for his career surge and is now a father of two daughters, Alisa and Vika.
