Levante Unión Deportiva is a Spanish professional football club based in Valencia, competing in La Liga for the 2025–26 season at the Ciutat de València Stadium. Founded in 1909 as Levante FC, it is the oldest club in the city, predating rivals Valencia CF by a decade. During the Spanish Civil War, Levante won the Copa de la España Libre in 1937, defeating city rivals Valencia 1–0. In 1939, the club merged with Gimnástico FC to form Levante UD, adopting Gimnástico's blue-garnet colors and the nickname Granota (Frogs). After years in lower divisions, Levante made its La Liga debut in 1963 and has since experienced multiple promotions and relegations, maintaining a strong presence in Spanish football.
