Christian Dickson Walker (born March 28, 1991) is a professional baseball first baseman who currently plays for the Houston Astros, having previously suited up for the Baltimore Orioles and Arizona Diamondbacks. A three-time Gold Glove Award winner, he is celebrated as one of the best defensive first basemen in the majors. Before his MLB career, he starred for the South Carolina Gamecocks, winning the College World Series in 2010 and 2011 and tying the record for most career hits in that tournament. Drafted by the Orioles in 2012, he debuted in 2014 but was designated for assignment four times before finally breaking through as the Diamondbacks' regular first baseman in 2019. He helped lead Arizona to the National League pennant in 2023, and after the 2024 season, he signed a three-year deal with the Astros. His path from being repeatedly waived to becoming a defensive stalwart makes his story one of perseverance and skill.
