Austin Bold FC was a professional soccer team based in Austin, Texas, founded in 2017 and debuting in the USL Championship in 2019. The club played at Bold Stadium within the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) race track, where Kleber Giacomacci scored the first goal in a 1-0 win over San Antonio FC on March 30, 2019. Led by COTA chairman Bobby Stein, the team was embroiled in a public relations battle with Anthony Precourt of rival Austin FC, with Stein facing criticism for his tactics. In 2021, the club announced a move to Fort Worth, Texas, but after a new ownership group (including Donnie Nelson and Neil Leibman) was approved in December 2021, they failed to secure a stadium deal. As a result, the team did not participate in the 2022 USL Championship season and has not played since, effectively ceasing operations. Their only major honor was winning the Copa Tejas (Division 2) in 2019.
