Andrew Tate (born 1 December 1986) is an American-British former professional kickboxer and divisive social media personality who built a webcam pornography business before becoming a leading figure in the manosphere, promoting hyper-macho, misogynistic, and right-wing views that earned him the label "king of toxic masculinity" and a following of 9.9 million on Twitter. After retiring from kickboxing in 2016, he and his brother Tristan expanded their webcam operation in Romania—which led to his removal from the reality show Big Brother in 2016—and later launched lucrative online education platforms like Hustler's University and The War Room, reportedly generating $5 million monthly by 2023, while Tate himself became the third-most googled person in 2023. His legal woes escalated in December 2022 with his arrest in Romania, followed by charges in June 2023 for rape, human trafficking, and organized crime—charges he denies—alongside later accusations involving minors, money laundering, and tax evasion. In May 2025, the UK's Crown Prosecution Service authorized 21 charges against him, and additional charges in 2026 (including rape and possession of child pornography) led to his arrest in Miami, where he now faces extradition to the UK.
