Rayan (born 2006) is a Brazilian winger/forward who currently plays for Bournemouth and the Brazil national team, having emerged as a prodigy at Vasco da Gama where he scored 280 goals by age 11 and made his professional debut at just 16 in 2023. After winning the Best Newcomer Award in the 2025 Brasileirão and helping Vasco reach the Copa do Brasil final, he transferred to Bournemouth in January 2026 for a reported £24.7 million. He made an immediate impact in the Premier League, becoming only the third teenager in league history to register a goal or assist in his first three appearances, and later scoring in three consecutive matches to help Bournemouth make history. On the international stage, Rayan earned his senior Brazil call-up in March 2026, was selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad under Carlo Ancelotti, and became the first teenager to start a World Cup match for Brazil since 1970. Following in the footsteps of his father Valkmar, who also played for Vasco, Rayan has already won the South American U-20 Championship in 2025, cementing his status as one of football's brightest young stars.
