Michael Zheng (born January 27, 2004) is an American professional tennis player who reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 106 in August 2026. Raised in New Jersey by parents who emigrated from China, Zheng made history at Columbia University by winning back-to-back NCAA singles titles in 2024 and 2025—the first player to do so since Steve Johnson in 2011-12, and the first Columbia champion since 1906. After being a Wimbledon boys' singles finalist in 2022, he turned pro and won three Challenger titles in 2025, including a 15-match winning streak. In 2026, he made his Grand Slam main-draw debut at the Australian Open (beating Sebastian Korda in five sets) and reached the third round at Wimbledon by upsetting British No. 1 Cameron Norrie. His rapid rise from college star to Grand Slam contender marks him as one of the most exciting young talents in American men's tennis.
