Brian Kelly (born October 25, 1961) is a prominent former American college football coach who led five different universities over a 34-year head coaching career. He first made his mark at Grand Valley State (1991–2003), where he compiled a 118–35–2 record and won back-to-back NCAA Division II national championships in 2002 and 2003. After brief stops at Central Michigan and Cincinnati, he orchestrated a unique feat in 2006, coaching Central Michigan to a bowl win over Western Michigan and then, days later, coaching Cincinnati to a victory over the same Western Michigan team in the International Bowl. His most prominent tenure was at Notre Dame (2010–2021), where he led the Fighting Irish to the 2013 BCS National Championship Game and made two College Football Playoff appearances in 2018 and 2020. He concluded his career at LSU from 2022 to 2025, leaving a legacy as one of the winningest coaches in college football history.
