Chris Hansen

Chris Hansen (born September 13, 1959) is an American journalist and TV host who became a cultural icon as the host of To Catch a Predator on Dateline NBC (2004–2007), earning the moniker "The Predator Hunter" for his sting operations against online predators. Before that, he joined NBC in 1993, covering major events like the Columbine massacre and 9/11, but the predator series cemented his fame. After leaving NBC in 2013, he hosted Killer Instinct and Crime Watch Daily, and in 2020 he co-founded the true-crime streaming service TruBlu, starring in Takedown with Chris Hansen. His investigative work has earned him ten Emmy Awards and five Edward R. Murrow Awards, among other accolades. Born in Chicago and raised in Michigan, he graduated from Michigan State University in 1981 before starting his career in local news.
