Chase Stokes

Chase Stokes (born September 16, 1992) is an American actor and director best known for his role as John B. in the Netflix hit Outer Banks, which premiered in April 2020 and wrapped up with its fifth and final season in 2026. Growing up in Maryland, Georgia, and Florida, he originally dreamed of playing professional ice hockey before turning to acting, landing early roles in Stranger Things and Daytime Divas before his breakout. Beyond Outer Banks, he starred in the Netflix dystopian film Uglies, the military thriller Valiant One, and the romance Marked Men: Rule + Shaw, and he is now preparing for his feature directorial debut with I Told the Sunset About You. His personal life has drawn attention too, as he dated his Outer Banks co-star Madelyn Cline from 2020 to 2021 and country singer Kelsea Ballerini from 2023 to 2026. In a sobering revelation, Stokes shared that he suffered kidney and liver failure along with short-term memory loss from three concussions sustained after filming the final season.
