Indios de Ciudad Juárez was a Mexican football club founded in 2005 when the Pachuca Juniors franchise relocated to Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. The team quickly found success in the second-tier league, winning the Apertura 2007 title and securing promotion to the top-flight Primera División in May 2008 after a dramatic playoff victory over León. In their first top-flight season, they made the playoffs in Clausura 2009, stunning defending champions Toluca, but their form collapsed afterward—most notably going winless in the entire Apertura 2009 tournament. Relegated after the 2010 Clausura, the club was officially disbanded in December 2011 due to severe financial problems. However, the team was reborn as Indios UACJ in 2012 under the University of Ciudad Juárez, competing in the Segunda División and even winning the Clausura 2014 final via a penalty shootout against Irapuato. This brief but eventful history highlights a club that experienced a rapid rise, dramatic playoff runs, and a resilient revival at the university level.
