Jayden Ikaika Maiava (born April 6, 2004, in Honolulu, Hawaii) is an American college football quarterback currently playing for the USC Trojans, after previously starring for the UNLV Rebels. Growing up in a large Samoan household in Pālolo, Hawaii, he moved between Las Vegas and Honolulu during high school, earning a three-star recruit rating before committing to UNLV over offers from Auburn, Louisville, and Tennessee. After redshirting in 2022, Maiava took over as UNLV's starter in 2023 following an injury, throwing for 2,626 yards and 14 touchdowns to earn Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors. He entered the transfer portal in January 2024, briefly committed to Georgia, but flipped to USC the very next day, where he became the first Polynesian quarterback to start for the Trojans. In his debut season he led a dramatic 35–31 comeback victory in the 2024 Las Vegas Bowl, and in 2025 he posted 3,711 passing yards and 24 touchdowns, becoming a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien Award. His football lineage includes his uncle Kaluka Maiava (a USC linebacker from 2005–2008) and great-grandfather Neff Maiava, a professional wrestler.
