Brendan Fraser (born December 3, 1968) is an American-Canadian actor who shot to fame in the 1990s with comedic hits like Encino Man (1992) and George of the Jungle (1997), but is perhaps most iconic for his role as Rick O'Connell in the Mummy franchise (1999–present). His career hit a rough patch in the late 2000s and 2010s due to health issues and the personal fallout from a sexual assault he experienced in 2003 by Philip Berk, the then-president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. During this period, he transitioned to television, starring in The Affair (2016–2017), Trust (2018), and Doom Patrol (2019–2023).
