Ryan Garcia (born August 8, 1998) is an American professional boxer who currently holds the WBC welterweight title (since 2026) and previously captured the WBC interim lightweight title in 2021. A decorated amateur with 15 national championships and a 215–15 record, he turned professional at age 17 in June 2016, signing with Golden Boy Promotions and later training under Eddy Reynoso. Garcia rose to prominence with first-round knockouts over Romero Duno and Francisco Fonseca, but his defining victory came in January 2021 when he survived a second-round knockdown to stop Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell with a body shot in round 7, winning the interim lightweight belt. However, in April 2021, he withdrew from a title defense against Javier Fortuna to "manage his health and well being," resulting in him being stripped of that interim title. He was subsequently scheduled to challenge Joseph Diaz for the same interim belt in November 2021, marking a highly anticipated comeback attempt.
