Amen Thompson (born January 30, 2003) is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the NBA, known for his athleticism and defensive skills. He starred at Pine Crest School in Florida, where he was a five-star recruit and led his team to a state championship with a 43-point performance in a double-overtime win. Instead of playing college basketball, Thompson signed with Overtime Elite (OTE) in 2021, playing two seasons and winning a league title with the City Reapers in 2023 while earning All-OTE First Team honors. Selected 4th overall in the 2023 NBA draft, he made the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2024 and was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2025. He is the identical twin of Ausar Thompson, and the brothers share the middle name "XLNC" (excellence); their father is of Jamaican descent, and their uncle competed in the 1992 Olympics.
