Vaughn Grissom is an American professional baseball infielder (second baseman and shortstop) currently with the Los Angeles Angels, having previously played for the Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox. Drafted by the Braves out of high school in 2019, he made his MLB debut on August 10, 2022, famously homering over the Green Monster at Fenway Park and stealing a base, becoming the youngest player ever to do both in a major-league debut. After battling for the starting shortstop job in 2023, he was traded to the Red Sox in December 2023 in exchange for Chris Sale, but his time in Boston was marred by injuries like groin and hamstring strains that limited his production. In 2025, he spent most of the season in Triple-A Worcester, though a diagnosis of plantar fasciitis in September ended his campaign early. He was subsequently traded to the Angels in December 2025 for Isaiah Jackson, looking for a fresh start with his new club.
