Good Morning America First Look (originally ABC World News This Morning) is ABC's early-morning news program that serves as a lead-in to Good Morning America, currently anchored by Sophie Flay and Hanna Battah as of December 2025. It debuted on July 5, 1982, with Steve Bell and Kathleen Sullivan anchoring from Washington, D.C., before moving to New York in 1988 under new anchors Forrest Sawyer and Paula Zahn. The show was later combined with the overnight program World News Now in 1992 and has evolved from a 60-minute broadcast at 6 a.m. into its current half-hour format that loops from 3:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET. It features national and international headlines, live reports, airport weather forecasts, a business segment called "America's Money," and a sports update from ESPN's SportsCenter (previously from ESPNews until 2013). The program celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2002 and now serves as a flexible lead-in for local stations, often repeating for markets without their own morning newscasts.
