KXLT-TV (channel 47) is a Fox affiliate in Rochester, Minnesota, serving Southeast Minnesota and Northern Iowa, and is now owned by Gray Media alongside NBC affiliate KTTC. After a rocky start in 1987 as a satellite of St. Cloud's KXLI, the station briefly shut down and later aired home shopping and infomercials before being sold to Shockley Communications. Shockley relaunched it as a Fox affiliate in January 1998, upgrading it to full power and even launching a cable-only WB affiliate in partnership with the network. In 2001, Quincy Newspapers (owner of KTTC) took over KXLT's operations under a shared services agreement because FCC duopoly rules prevented direct ownership, a situation that lasted until Gray Media acquired full ownership in 2025. The station's transmitter is located in Grand Meadow Township, with a translator in Mason City, Iowa, and it shares studios with KTTC in Rochester.
