Jimmy Fallon (born September 19, 1974, in Brooklyn, New York) is an American comedian and television host who rose to fame as a cast member on Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 1998, where he co-hosted the iconic "Weekend Update" segment for six years. After leaving SNL in 2004 to pursue film roles like Taxi and Fever Pitch, he returned to television in 2009 as the host of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, gaining attention for his focus on music and video games. In 2014, he became the sixth permanent host of The Tonight Show, a role he continues to hold. Beyond hosting, Fallon has released two comedy albums and seven books (mostly for children), and has won four Primetime Emmy Awards and a Grammy Award. Growing up in Saugerties, New York, he was obsessed with SNL as a teenager, which fueled his dream of joining the show, and he later returned to college to earn his degree in 2009.
