Kody Clemens (born May 15, 1996), son of seven-time Cy Young winner Roger Clemens, is a utility player for the Minnesota Twins who previously suited up for the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies. After undergoing Tommy John surgery in college, he bounced back with a breakout junior season at the University of Texas (.352 average, 23 homers) and was drafted by the Tigers 79th overall in 2018. He made his MLB debut in May 2022, hitting his first home run in June and a grand slam in October, while also making relief pitching appearances in blowout games to save the bullpen—famously striking out Shohei Ohtani. In January 2023, he was traded with Gregory Soto to the Phillies for Matt Vierling and Nick Maton, later landing with the Twins. His winding journey also includes a stint in an independent league during the COVID-canceled 2020 minor league season, where he was named his team's MVP.
