Alexander "Sascha" Zverev (born 20 April 1997 in Hamburg, Germany) is a German professional tennis player who has reached a career-high ranking of world No. 2, capturing 25 ATP Tour singles titles, including a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the 2018 and 2021 ATP Finals, and his maiden Grand Slam victory at the 2026 French Open.

A former junior world No. 1 who won the 2014 Australian Open junior title, Zverev broke through early by becoming one of the youngest ATP Challenger Tour winners at age 17 and upsetting Roger Federer as a teenager. He reached his first major final at the 2020 US Open and enjoyed his most successful season in 2021, but a severe ankle injury at the 2022 French Open forced an extended recovery. He rebounded strongly to re-enter the top 10, reaching four more major finals before finally claiming the 2026 French Open title. Born to Russian parents who were both professional tennis players for the Soviet Union, Zverev began playing at age three, was intensely competitive as a child, and was coached primarily by his mother before focusing solely on tennis at age twelve.
