Grigor Dimitrov (born 16 May 1991) is a Bulgarian professional tennis player who stands as the highest-ranked Bulgarian in history, reaching world No. 3 after winning the prestigious 2017 ATP Finals—the biggest title of his career—and has since collected nine ATP Tour singles titles. Before turning pro at 16, he dominated the junior circuit, becoming world No. 1 and winning consecutive boys' singles titles at Wimbledon and the US Open in 2008. In October 2013, he made history as the first Bulgarian man to win an ATP Tour title at the Stockholm Open, and by reaching the 2024 French Open quarterfinals, he became only the second player born in the 1990s (after Daniil Medvedev) to complete the career set of Grand Slam and Masters 1000 quarterfinals. Dimitrov also holds the Open Era record for the most Grand Slam retirements (10) and boasted a remarkable streak of 58 consecutive Grand Slam appearances, which ended with his withdrawal from the 2025 US Open. Off the court, he was named Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year in 2014 and 2017, won the Balkan Athlete of the Year award in 2017, and received the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award in December 2024. Nicknamed "Baby Fed" for his stylish play reminiscent of Roger Federer, he has had high-profile relationships with Maria Sharapova and Nicole Scherzinger, and has been dating Mexican actress Eiza González since April 2025.
