Jahmyr Gibbs

Jahmyr Gibbs, nicknamed "Sonic," is a standout running back for the Detroit Lions, who selected him with the 12th overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft after standout college careers at Georgia Tech and Alabama. Overcoming a difficult childhood marked by poverty and time in shelters, he was adopted at age 15 by his teammate's parents and later blossomed into a star, rushing for over 4,800 yards in high school. In college, he impressed at Georgia Tech before transferring to Alabama, where he exploded for 206 rushing yards against Arkansas in 2022. Paired with David Montgomery in Detroit, the duo earned the playful nickname "Sonic and Knuckles" for their complementary styles. In 2024, Gibbs set a franchise record by scoring 20 touchdowns—the most in the NFL that season—and he has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three professional seasons (2023–2025). His remarkable speed, versatility, and resilience have quickly made him one of the league's most electrifying offensive weapons.
