Good Morning America (GMA) is a popular American morning news program on ABC, which debuted on November 3, 1975, after the network's earlier attempt, AM America, failed to compete with NBC's Today. The show was revamped based on the relaxed, living-room style of local programs like Cleveland's The Morning Exchange, and it now airs weekdays and Saturdays from 7-9 a.m., featuring news, interviews, and segments like "Pop News" and the "GMA Heat Index". Anchored by Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan, the program broadcasts from Studio C in New York City's Hudson Square. After trailing Today for years, GMA overtook its rival in April 2012 and has been the most-watched morning show since summer 2012. It also won the first three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning Program (2007-2009) and expanded to weekend editions, which returned permanently in 2004.
