Manu Koné (born 17 May 2001) is a French-Ivorian midfielder currently starring for Serie A club Roma and the France national team. After debuting with Toulouse in 2019, he transferred to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021 for €9 million, where he notably scored against Bayern Munich and tied for the most yellow cards in the 2022-23 Bundesliga season. In August 2024, he joined Roma for an estimated €18 million, quickly becoming an indispensable midfield presence with standout Europa League displays, despite a turbulent season featuring three coaching changes. Internationally, he won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and made his senior France debut against Italy in September 2024, earning a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad. A devout Christian with five siblings, Koné was also honored as a Knight of the National Order of Merit in 2024.
