Jamie Foxx (born Eric Marlon Bishop on December 13, 1967, in Terrell, Texas) rose to fame as a comedian on the sketch show In Living Color (1991–1994) before starring in his own sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show (1996–2001). He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his transformative portrayal of Ray Charles in Ray (2004) and was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor that same year for Collateral. His diverse filmography includes major roles in Django Unchained (2012), Baby Driver (2017), Soul (2020), Just Mercy (2019), and the role of Electro in the Spider-Man films. As an R&B artist, he achieved number-one singles with "Slow Jamz" and "Gold Digger," won a Grammy for "Blame It," and topped the Billboard 200 with his album Unpredictable (2005). Since 2017, he has hosted the game show Beat Shazam, and in 2021 he published his autobiography Act Like You Got Some Sense.
