Kevin Gausman is a veteran Major League Baseball pitcher currently playing for the Chicago Cubs, having previously suited up for the Orioles, Braves, Reds, Giants, and Blue Jays. A standout at LSU where he earned All-American honors, he was selected 4th overall by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2012 MLB draft and made his big-league debut in 2013. Gausman has been named an All-Star twice (2021 and 2023) and led the American League in strikeouts in 2023. Interestingly, he was originally drafted by the Dodgers in 2010 but chose to attend college instead. A defining early memory for him is the historic upset loss to Stony Brook in the 2012 Super Regional, which he still reflects on today.
