D4vd

David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, is an American singer-songwriter who launched his career in 2021 by composing original music for his Fortnite gaming montages. He achieved commercial success with the 2022 platinum-certified singles "Romantic Homicide" and "Here with Me," followed by the EPs Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals in 2023, and his debut album Withered in 2025, which peaked at number 13 on the US Billboard 200. However, his career was abruptly halted in September 2025 when police discovered the dismembered body of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez inside a vehicle registered to him, leading to the cancellation of his tour and album reissue. He was arrested on April 16, 2026, and subsequently charged with first-degree murder with special circumstances, lewd acts with an individual under 14, and mutilating a body. Burke has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is currently being held without bail. Prior to these events, he was known for his lo-fi pop and R&B style, drawing inspiration from his Christian faith and gospel music upbringing.
