Linda Cohn (born November 10, 1959) is a pioneering American sportscaster best known for her iconic tenure at ESPN, where she anchored SportsCenter from 1992 to 2026. Growing up on Long Island in a Jewish family, she broke gender barriers early by playing goalie on her high school's boys' hockey team before making history in 1987 as the first full-time female sports anchor on a national radio network at ABC. Joining ESPN in 1992, she became a beloved fixture, accurately predicting Coppin State University's historic 1997 NCAA tournament upset and hosting her record-setting 5,000th episode of SportsCenter in 2016. Her career wasn't without challenges, including nearly being fired in 1994 for lacking "love for sports" on air and a 2017 suspension for commenting on the network's left-wing bias. Beyond anchoring, she expanded her role to WNBA play-by-play and co-hosting weekend shows from Los Angeles with Neil Everett, securing a contract extension in 2018 to continue her legendary career.
