Ozzy Osbourne (1948–2025), dubbed the "Prince of Darkness," was a pioneering English heavy metal singer who co-founded Black Sabbath in 1968, rising to fame with albums like Paranoid before being fired in 1979 due to substance abuse. He launched a successful solo career in the 1980s with guitarist Randy Rhoads, releasing Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, and later reunited with Black Sabbath multiple times, performing his final show at the Back to the Beginning concert in Birmingham on 5 July 2025, just 17 days before his death. Selling over 100 million albums, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame both with Black Sabbath (2006) and as a solo artist (2024), and received the Global Icon Award at the 2014 MTV EMAs and an Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement in 2015. Beyond music, he became a reality TV star with his family in The Osbournes (2002–2005) and co-founded the Ozzfest touring festival with his wife Sharon. His early life was marked by hardship, including dyslexia, sexual abuse at age 11, and multiple suicide attempts, but he was inspired to become a musician after hearing the Beatles' "She Loves You" at age 14.
