Donna Mills (born Donna Jean Miller, December 11, 1940) is an American actress best known for her iconic role as the villainous Abby Cunningham on the primetime soap opera Knots Landing (1980–1989), a part that earned her three Soap Opera Digest Awards for Outstanding Villainess. Her career began in the 1960s with a Broadway appearance in Woody Allen's Don't Drink the Water and a film debut in The Incident (1967), before she starred opposite Clint Eastwood in the thriller Play Misty for Me (1971). After leaving Knots Landing, she continued acting in TV movies and later joined the daytime soap General Hospital in 2014, winning a Daytime Emmy for her guest role. She has also appeared in recent films like Nope (2022) and Origin (2023). Interestingly, her high school classmate Jim Jacobs based the character of Sandy in Grease on her. With a career spanning over five decades, Mills remains a notable figure in television history.
